When Darryl and I began dating, I joked with him that I would only be his "girlfriend" for a certain amount of time. By our fourth year of dating I was convinced this is the man sent to me & uniquely for me. We began discussing marriage more and more. I knew it was only a matter of time but when exactly was the mystery. During brunch, for my 28th birthday (celebrated with close friends), Darryl decided to pop the question. Completely off guard (I was returning from the ladies room) with Jagged Edge "Let's get Married" cued- he got on one knee. As he was asking, I was so taken back that I kept pulling away. As he often does- he calmed my nerves and was then reassured this was indeed happening. 

As we we can see... I said YES! And the rest is now being made into history! 

I didn't know what to do or how to do it.  All I knew was that I loved this woman so much and I was going to marry her and make her happy,that and I had a deadline lol.  But seriously even when we were children I knew that she was forever my lady.  I used to write her letters and buy her little gifts back in elementary school, and of course bother her all the time lol- it was all out of love!  Getting the right ring was probably the hardest thing when it came to the proposal.  She was giving me hints but I was looking at these rings she showed me and thought they're all different. Consequently, I was lost, but I think I did a good job.  I decided that I would propose for her birthday- she thought it was just a birthday brunch. Only a few that were there knew what was about to happen and when she went to the bathroom I told the rest what was about to go down!! She came back and as she approached the table I got down on one knee.  She immediately started pushing me saying "Darryl shut up!!!  You better not be playing with me!!" Lol after the shock was over she said yes and the way she looked at me was priceless,  the feeling was priceless.  Everything was right she was totally caught off guard and seeing that smile was the icing on the cake!
