 | The custom ring I had made, in conjunction with her father a jeweler, finally arrived about a month after ordered. My mind raced during the 2+ hour drive to pick it up and the way back, on how I would propose. I worked out the details in my head and texted her midafternoon to meet for dinner. She was having a challenging work day and preferred to stay in and relax. How about I drop off a sandwich and just say “Hi” was my response. Lol. She said she would think about it and get back to me. Later she said she could meet me. I choose the pizza restaurant where we had our second date. Yep – I was going to propose to me dream girl in a pizzeria! Classy huh?
I arrived first and hid the ring box behind the napkin dispenser on our table. She looked absolutely stunning! I was sooooo nervous. She did most of the talking while I looked for an opening to propose. I couldn’t eat and she noticed and commented why I wasn’t. “I’m focusing on you Love and the things you are sharing” was my reply. She grabbed my hand and told me how sweaty they were. The time was now!
I looked deep into her eyes and began telling her how much I love her. That I would always love, honor, respect and take care of her. Spoil her and treat her as a princess. Our best days are ahead. That I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I slowly grabbed the ring and slid around the table edge and dropped to my knee while opening the lid. I presented the ring before her and asked if she would marry me. Instant tears. Really? Really? She said. She hugged me and gave me the sweetest soft kisses on the side of my face. Time stood still for me. We continued holding each other, then I realized after about 30 seconds, she hadn’t given me an answer. I whispered into her ear “The proper response is Yes”. She looked me in the eye and said yes.
I'm the luckiest guy on the planet! Thank you God for joining our paths. |
