Hanna Schiffhauer and Shannon Walsh
Shannon and Hanna first crossed paths at their hometown jiujitsu academy in Belleville, IL, in 2017.
Shannon and Hanna were teammates at the gym, but their friendship truly began during the March 2020 COVID lockdown. Hanna was a college student at the time of the lockdown and wanted to stay in shape. Since jiujitsu was not an option, she invited her “Wifey-of-Honor” Brittani, Shannon, and a few other jiujitsu teammates to go running at the local high school track.
Brittani and the other teammates would come and go, but it was Shannon and Hanna who stayed consistent in their running workouts. During their workouts, they would run, climb bleachers, and talk about life. They developed a true friendship during that time.
After the lockdown was lifted, both Hanna and Shannon returned to jiujitsu. Hanna, being the extrovert that she is, invited Shannon to hang out at the local pub after practice one night. One hang-out turned into two, which eventually led Shannon to ask Hanna on a date. She said yes, and the rest is history!
A little less than two years after their first date, Shannon proposed to Hanna on top of a mountain in Kauai, Hawaii. They are excited for this next stage in their life, and can’t wait for you to join them in celebrating their love!
