Our Story

Ken first caught my eye at the gym. He didn't approach me during my workout, even though I couldn't stop staring at his handsome face. He later told me that he finally understood what so many women feel at a gym from guys. As fate would have it, we ended up matching on an online dating app called Hinge a week or so later. He eventually admitted to calling a few of his friends, opening with, "do you remember that girl from the gym I have been talking about?!"  As I was getting ready for our first date, I asked him how long it would take him to come pick me up. He looked it up and we literally lived less than a block away; he said it was a 2-minute walk. The keeper of the stars really wanted us to meet, and we were inseparable after that. We bonded over trying to out cook one another, until financially it wasn't reasonable.  Insert wagyu steak with quail egg tacos here. We share the art and love of cooking and working out. It's all about balance, right?!

Well, it’s safe to say we complement each other in every aspect. It didn't take long to figure out that we could literally order for each other at any restaurant without having ever even been there just because of how well we bonded and knew each other. Even about things we had never even talked about. The first time he met my grandparents, they were ordering takeout before I got home from work. My grandpa asked my mom what to order for me and even she knew already and said, " Ken can probably order for her even better than anyone."

We are genuinely best friends, partners and adventure buddies. No matter what we do, where we go, or what happens along the way (getting lost in a jungle trying to find a beach in Hawaii) we always have so much fun and end up with the greatest stories and so much to remanence about. 

To honor my grandparents, Tommy & Joletha Heflin, we chose June 3, 2022. On this special day my grandparents will be celebrating 60 YEARS OF MARRIAGE! To honor their love story, we will continue their anniversary. After we got engaged, they were the first phone call to ask permission to share their special day and carry on that very special family tradition.
